How we verify
Our promise is simple: we never present a guess as a fact. Here's the process behind every badge and every app page.
1. Everything starts as a research lead
The directory was seeded from public sources — app-store listings, business directories and news. That's a starting point, not proof. Until a person reviews it, an app is a lead, and its page says so.
2. Evidence review for "Made in Oman"
The Made-in-Oman badge is the one people rely on most, so it's the strictest. We look for concrete ownership evidence before publishing it:
- Commercial registration or licensing in Oman
- Founders or leadership based in Oman
- Headquarters and operations in the country
- Regulator records (e.g. Central Bank of Oman) or credible press
Until that's confirmed, the app still appears — clearly marked “pending review.”
3. Availability review for "Works in Oman"
Being on an app store isn't enough. We check for a real Oman presence: a local storefront, OMR pricing, local payment support, or genuine delivery/service coverage.
4. Confidence levels
Each app carries a confidence rating — high, medium or low — reflecting how solid the evidence is. Low-confidence entries are flagged for re-checking and shown transparently rather than hidden.
5. The correction loop
Every app page shows a last-reviewed date and a report / suggest a correction link. Broken link, wrong owner, no longer available? One tap tells us, and it goes back into review. Founders can also claim their listing — but every edit is reviewed before it publishes.
We'd always rather show you an honest “pending” than a confident mistake. If you ever see something that looks wrong, please flag it — that feedback is what keeps the map accurate.
